EADS North America today announced the promotion of James F. Mulato as the President of its EADS North America Test and Services division headquartered in Irvine, California.
In this position, Mulato is responsible for developing and implementing strategies to expand the company’s presence in the semiconductor test and defense markets, as well as broaden the commercial applications for its Automatic Test Equipment (ATE) test and measurement instruments.
Mulato, who previously was EADS North America Test and Services’ Executive Vice President, now assumes full business responsibility for its financial, engineering, marketing, business development and manufacturing activities. He reports to David Oliver, the Executive Vice President of EADS North America.
“Jim Mulato’s demonstrated ability to manage and lead – combined with his technical knowledge, business acumen and defense industry experience – were key factors in the promotion,” Oliver said. “With more than 20 years of experience in test hardware and software development and execution, he will be able to position EADS North America Test and Services as the premier ATE provider to both commercial customers and the U.S. Department of Defense.”
Prior to joining EADS North America Test and Services in 2005, Mulato was the Chairman and CEO of the EADS North America Defense Company. He also was CEO of its wholly-owned test company, Access Research Corporation, which subsequently was integrated into the activity of EADS North America Test and Services. He came to EADS in January 2000 after holding numerous technical and management positions over a 15-year period at Lockheed Martin and Lockheed Martin Missile and Fire Control in Orlando, Florida.
Mulato is a 1983 graduate of The Ohio State University College of Engineering, and he earned a Masters of Business Administration (MBA) with a concentration in Finance from the Florida State University College of Business in 1984.
